Second title I watched this season: animated by J.C. Staff – Dream Eater Merry (Yumekui Merry).

To be honest, I don’t know what to expect in this anime apart from it being animated by J.C. Staff (which means there’s good chance it’ll lead to train wreck).

The basic idea isn’t too unique and there’s not enough background story told in this first episode.

Merry’s eyes are rather weird. Especially that black rectangle. It isn’t as weird when the color changed to white (as above) though.

Soundtrack is just average, so is animation with some rough edges here and there. And the 3D felt rather weird – especially when combined with Nabari-ish background style. Opening animation and music are great though. It has Toaru-ish feel in it. The singer seems like just newly debuted. Or related with Touhou, idk. Does anyone know her? (Marina Fujiwara)

Overall, it’s quite good I guess?
