All right, after trying to create a good mail server solution for myself (and only myself), I gave up and went back to Google Apps. Maintaining mail server isn’t easy and having to maintain just for one person isn’t quite motivating.
To summarize, the advantages in using Google Apps:
- Maintenance-free
- (Pretty much) guaranteed uptime
- Good web interface
- Good spam filter
And the disadvantages:
- Advertisements (read: Google)
- IMAP folder evilry
In the end, I decided to move back because of the maintenance-free advantage. Maintaining single-user mail server isn’t worth it.
Oh and I tried using Live Custom Domain. It’s missing IMAP and has crappy web interface. Cancelled immediately.
